The Fight of Life

I wanted to share a prime example of how my brothers are my role models. Isaac is an amazing fighter and I’ve learned a lot about what I call “the fight of life” by watching him in his matches. In this vide I see/learned a couple of things:

-fight with passion and determination. After he wins the match, you can very visibly see his emotional state in regard to his victory. I want to really draw attention to the consistency of his passion, ambition, and determination. Isaac consistently shows his determination to show up for himself by setting high expectations for himself and holding himself accountable for the outcome of the expectations.

-Celebrate the small victories. This was only one of many matches that he had to win for gold, I frequently fail to remember that the small wins are still something to be excited about.

-Isaac went in for a head kick and quickly realized that his opponent was creeping in to land a body punch since Isaac’s body was exposed. So instead of the head kick, Isaac went for the front kick which in turn won him the match. Which leads me to my last and final point of: Be flexible. If the look you want isn’t there, be willing to try something different to get the results you desire.

!UPDATE! Isaac is headed to Virginia for Nationals this week! He will be going for gold, good luck to Isaac and all Buckner athletes competing!
